Building Sustainable Communities
One Child at a Time
ABOUT US
CALLS OVER RIDGES PHILIPPINES
When Typhoon Odette (Rai) struck Siargao in 2021, it damaged 145 schools and cut off thousands of children from quality education. In response, Calls Over Ridges launched The Ocean Program in 2023 to support long-term recovery, working hand-in-hand with schools and communities on projects like school boat buses, nutrition support, literacy programs, scholarships, and disaster preparedness. These initiatives address urgent gaps in transportation, learning spaces, and child health — barriers that shape the future of an entire generation. Join us in this mission!
Core Programs
The aim is to afford children the chance to shape the life they desire; consequently, we construct our educational programs based on four fundamental elements - Educational Funding, Community Empowerment, Intrinsic Motivation, and Learning Resources. Each of these aspects plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of a child's education.

We provide students in Sitio Liaonan access to education with a motorized fiberglass boat, enabling their commute to Lasala Elementary School.
We seek to implement a six-month daily lunch initiative to facilitate students' access to wholesome and nourishing meals.
We enhance students' reading skills by providing supplementary educational resources to schools in order to foster a genuine passion for reading.
A holistic support initiative that provides educational scholarships alongside mentorship, life skills training, and community engagement opportunities for youth in last-mile island communities.
